Quintus Livingston, son of Alexander George Washington Gordon & Sarah Elvina McPherson, was born Oct 11, 1837 Robertson Co TN, died Aug 2, 1902 Elmo, Kaufman Co TX & buried at College Mound Cemetery, Kaufman Co TX.

Married: Malona Parallie Lawrence "Parlee" Feb 16, 1862 Saline Co IL. She is the daughter of Washington Lawrence & Eliza ? & was born Feb 21, 1840 Logan Co KY, died Jan 25, 1916 Ashworth, Kaufman Co TX & buried at College Mound Cemetery, Kaufman Co TX.

1. Aug 10, 1850 Logan Co KY census record shows Washington Lawrence age 49, Eliza age 47, Elvina age 27, Virgil A. age 14, Malona P. age 10, G? (male) age 7 & Sally George age 4 living in District 1. Washington is a farmer. (pg 3a, #37)
2. Sep 2, 1850 Robertson Co TN census record shows Quintus Gordon age 12 living with his parents on their farm in District 3. (pg 22a, #323)
3. Feb 7, 1860 Quintus Gordon pleaded guilty in Robertson Co TN circuit court to a charge of Gaming With Slave in the case of the State vs Quintus Gordon. He was sentenced to 1 month in jail & was to remain there until all fines & costs were paid in full. (Robt Co TN Circuit Court Bk E, pg 495)
4. Feb 11, 1860 Quintus Gordon & his security L.W. Willis were ordered to pay the fines & costs of the trial of the State vs Quintus Gordon. (Robt Co TN Circuit Court Bk E, pg 515)
5. Feb 1860 Quintus Gordon was granted a full pardon by the Governor of the State of Tennessee & he was then released from further imprisonment. (Robt Co TN Circuit Court Bk E, pg 521)
6. June 14, 1860 Robertson Co TN census record shows Quintus Gordon age 22 living with his parents on their farm in District 3, P.O. Adairville KY. (pg 276, #166)
7. Oct 17, 1861 Quintus Gordon enlisted in the 9th KY Mounted Infantry, Co G, C.S.A. as a Corporal under the command of Captain George A. King, his cousin. It's not known if he deserted or served his full enlistment time. (Q.L. Gordon military record)
8. Feb 16, 1862 Quintus Gordon & Malona married in Saline Co IL. (Marriage Index)
9. Dec 3, 1865 Saline Co IL probate record listed Quintus Gordon as an heir of A.G.W. Gordon. (Probate Records, pub by Saline Co IL Genealogical Soc)
10. Oct 17, 1866 Malona Gordon appointed her husband Quintus to act as her attorney-in-fact to sell her land located in Logan Co KY. At this time both Malona & Quintus were living in Saline Co IL. (Logan Co KY Deed Bk 40, pg 156)
11. Oct 17, 1866 J.W. Pitt purchased a tract of land from Malona which was valued at $600. (Logan Co KY Deed Bk 40, pg 157)
12. 1869 Quintus Gordon served as an appraiser in the estate of John R. Abney in Saline Co IL. (Saline Co IL Probate Records, pub by Saline Co IL Genealogical Soc, 1987, pg 10)
13. June 17, 1870 Saline Co IL census record shows Quintus Gordon age 35, Malona age 30 & Sarah Gordon age 60 (his mother) living in township 8, P.O. Galatin with a personal estate valued at $500. Quintus is a farmer. (pg 439b, #312)
14. 1873 Quintus Gordon served as an appraiser in the estate of William Abney. Final return on probate was May 20, 1873. (Probate Rec, pub by Saline Co IL Genealogical Soc, 1987, pg 9-10)
15. 1880 Graves Co KY census record shows Quintus Gordon age 42, Malona age 41, nephew Edwin H. Morse age 19, niece Effie Morse age 18. Quintus is a farmer, Edwin is a farmhand & Effie is as assistant housekeeper. The census record also shows that Quintus was born in TN, his father in SC & mother in KY. Malona was born in KY, father NC & mother in KY. His niece & nephew were born in NY. (pg 238b)
16. 1884 Kaufman Co TX tax roll for Quintus: total State/County tax paid $5.72. He owned 5 head of cattle valued at $60.
17. 1885 Kaufman Co TX tax roll for Quintus: total State/County tax paid $6.03. He owned 5 head of cattle valued at $50.
18. 1886 Kaufman Co TX tax roll for Quintus: total State/County tax paid $7.28. He owned 6 head of cattle valued at $48.
19. 1887 Kaufman Co TX tax roll for Quintus: total State/County tax paid $6.49. He owned 10 head of cattle valued at $60.

26. June 22, 1900 Kaufman Co TX census record shows Quintus Gordon age 62, Malona age 60 living in Justice Precinct 4. They had been married 36 years & owned their home free of mortgage. Quintus was working as a farm day laborer. (pg 225b, #356)
27. Aug 3, 1902, Terrell, Quincy L. Gordon died at Elmo yesterday at age 65. Burial at College Mound Cemetery. (Dallas Morning News Death Notice) (Note: his gravestone shows Oct 1 as death date)
28. May 2, 1910 Kaufman Co TX census record shows Elizabeth Barnes age 69 & a widow, Lucy age 33 & single, Malona Gordon age 70 & a widow & Maud Clouch age 26 & single living in Precinct 1, Kaufman city. Maud is a granddaughter of Elizabeth & is working as a Church Organist. (pg 48a, #386)
29. Nov 1914 Malona Gordon made an application for pension based on the military service of her husband Quintus. Malinda Jane Abney-Gordon served as a witness & made an affidavit statement as to his military service. (Malinda P. Gordon Pension Application, Kaufman Co TX)
30. Jan 25, 1916 Malona Gordon died in Kaufman Co TX due to Lagrippe & buried at College Mound Cemetery. Name of Informant cannot be read. (TX Death Cert)
