16. Rufus C. Gooch enlisted as a private in the 21st TN Cavalry, C.S.A. (Civil War Soldier's Index) The bio on Rufus Gooch stated he served in the 12th TN Cavalry, however his brother James C. Gooch & brother-in-law George L. Gordon both served in the 21st TN Cavalry. It is more likely that he was a member of the 21st regiment.
