June 16, 1900 Conway Co AR census record shows Alexander Gordon age 44, Melvina age 44, Lucinda age 17, John age 13, Emma age 11, Elmer age 8, Rosa age 6 & Sreathie age 2 living in Union township. Alexander is a farmer & owned his farm free of mortgage. John attended school 3 months out of the year. (pg 127b, #186)
12. Feb 1, 1910 Alexander Bruce Gordon died due to complications following an accident on his farm. He was in the process of hitching up his mules to a wagon & one mule that was new & he was unfamiliar with, started "acting up" & he jumped down from the wagon to calm the mule & broke his leg. He developed gangrene in his leg & died a week later. (Info from Edith Jackson & Mable Huckaby)
13. Apr 18, 1910 Conway Co AR census record shows Melvina Gordon age 54, Elmer age 18, Rosa age 16, Sreathie age 13 & Allie age 8 on their farm in Union township. James C. Crabtree age 26 is living with them and listed as a boarder. Melvina had 12 children with 9 living. (pg 136b, #44)
