My father, Robert Leroy Wilson, the son of James Mitchell Wilson, was born in the Economy Community Feb 14, 1872. His mother passed away when he was five years old and his father died when he was eleven, leaving a family of five children. My father lived with his Uncle Robert D. Wilson for three years and went to live with Joseph B. Wilson, his cousin, for six years.
My father was converted at the age of sixteen at Glass Village Camp Ground. He was a singer and musician. He married Alice Bell Austin, daughter of Capt Philip Manly Austin. She was born June 13, 1874. To this union was born five children:
1. Edward Howett Wilson, born July 18, 1897 and is married.
2. Elsie Angeline Wilson, born Dec 27, 1900.
3. Philip Leroy Wilson, born May 3, 1903 and died Sep 3, 1908.
4. Missouri Catherine Wilson, born Jul 23, 1907, died Feb 16, 1911.
5. Salena Bell Wilson, born Dec 25, 1910, married Cecil Smith.
My mother passed away Dec 19, 1937 and my father passed away Jun 22, 1948 and both are buried in the Ford Cemetery.
