Mary Wilson
1900 - 1967
Daughter of Samuel B. Wilson & Emma Dobson
Granddaughter of William & Eleanor Wilson

* I think Daddy and her were in an Orphan's Home after his dad died. Then his older brothers got him out and later fot Aunt Mary out, that's what she told me when she was older. She fell and hurt her ankle dancing and got TB of the bone. She was in a T.B. hospital. I don't know where, I guess St Louis. She was in the hospital a long time until it was healed. I can remember Daddy getting her out on visits. I have a picture of her with a cast on her leg. When it healed Daddy sent her the money to come to Texas and Daddy and Mom paid for her to go to school and learn secretary work as a stenographer. Very popular back then and she ot a job with the American Red Cross and worked there during the depression and lived with us. I remember she used to give me a quarter to clean her bedroom and of course, I did. She later married George Morgan, a soldier and after his death she went back to work at the Humane Society. She was crazy about cats and dogs all her life. She and Speedy (George Morgan) lived next to us in a duplex in San Antonio. I lost contact with her when we were transferred from the San Antonio area. I know her birthday was Feb 14th, Valentine's Day but she was very secretive about how old she was. She'd never tell me. I think she was older than Speedy. She always said she didn't know but if I remember right Dad was 2-3 years older than her so 1900 would be about right for her birth. Their mother died with childbirth of Mary, Daddy told me.
