The Huett families and friends would gather for a picnic/birthday dinner every April in honor of "Doc Huett's" birthday. Uncle Doc, as he had become known, was a well liked and respected member of the community and his birthday guests sometimes numbered well over 100 people. Throughout the years, people came from all over the community to have Uncle Doc "blow the fire" out of a burn, cure the "thrash" or make a wart go away, as he was the seventh son of a seventh son and had abilities no one could explain. Uncle Doc Huett maintained a full head of hair and all of his faculties until he died in 1955, shortly before his 94th birthday.
