Dear Babe,
I received your nice little letter promptly and was very glad to hear from home. Everyone who saw it thought it a nice letter and you a smart little girl.
I found your Aunt Rachel very sick indeed, she is not well yet but better and able to stir around. Mr Ledyard, Sudie's husband, is very low with Typhoid Fever and has been for three weeks. They don't know yet whether he will get well or not but hope he will.
I have been out to Belle's and am going up with Mary Terral this evening, will be three four or five days. I don't know how long. Mary came down for me last night.
They were all mighty glad to see me when I came.
My health is about the same as when I left home, don't know that I'm any better.
They all join me in love to you all. Let me hear from you soon.
Your affectionate Grandmother
Katie Gordon
My note: This is a letter from Katie McLeod-Gordon to Mary Ida McInnis, her granddaughter. Mary McLeod-Terral is a niece of Katie Gordon. Mary is the daughter of Alexander McLeod & Rachel is Mary Ida's great Aunt.
