I'll never forget Uncle John. He took mom & us kids to the train station when we moved to Texas. Dad was already there. We got a flat tire on his Model T and as he was fixing it I was nosey & watching everything he did so he picked up some of that red dirt & rubbed it on my legs and said "Edith this red dirt you won't see no more so remember it." He hated to see us move to Texas. He was a big tease. I used to love to watch him put horse shoes on the horses in his shop." ~ Memories of Edith Wilson-Jackson, daughter of Allie Gordon
