This indenture made the tenth day of January in the twenty seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith, Anno Domini 1753 between George TAYLOR of the __ in the Province of South Carolina and Elizabeth his wife of the first part and John LEE of the same place of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of ten shillings credit __ of the Province aforesaid by the said John LEE the said George TAYLOR & Elizabeth his wife in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife have bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said John LEE all that parcel or tract of land containing four hundred acres on a branch of Wateree River called Rocky Creek bounded when surveyed by vacant land on every side together with all and singular the woods & underwoods, timber and timbers, trees, lake, ponds, fishing, waters, water courses, profits, __, appurtenances, hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the __ and __, remainder and remainders thereof it being all that tract of land containing four hundred acres granted to the said George TAYLOR by his Majesty's letter patented under the great seal of the said Province dated the second day of January 1752 & __ by his Excellency James GLEN Esqr, Governor, To have and to hold the said tract of four hundred acres with all and singular the __ & the premises herein before mentioned and intended to be hereby bargained & sold with these and every of their __ __ the said John LEE his heirs and assigns from the day next before the day of the date of these presents for and during and unto the fall and term of one whole year from thence next __ and fully to be complete & ended __ and praying therefore unto the said George TAYLOR & Elizabeth his wife the __ pepper corn at the end of the said term the same shall be lawfully demonstrated & intent & principal that by virtue of these presents & statute for transferring uses unto __ __ said John LEE may be in the actual possession of all & singular the premises hereby bargained & sold & thereby unable to accept & take a grant & release of the __ of the same premises to him the said John LEE his heirs & assigns forever subject nevertheless to the payment of the quit rents the premises for cultivating the said land and all other the reservations, provisions and limitations whatsoever which in the said original grant made of the said four hundred acres of land to the said George TAYLOR all mentioned __ a __ and as in certain indentures of release intended to be as date the day next after the day of the date of these presents and to be made between the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife of the one part and the said John LEE of the other part is likewise declared. This indenture made the eleventh day of January in the twenty seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and fifty four between George TAYLOR & Elizabeth his wife of the Wateree River in the Province of South Carolina of the one part and John LEE of the same place of the other part. Whereas his Majesty King George the Second by his letters patented under the great seal of the said Province bearing date the second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty four tested by his Excellency James GLEN, Esqr Governor of the same did give and grant unto the said George TAYLOR __ __ all that parcel or tract of land and __ hundred acres situate lying and being on a branch of Wateree River called Rockey Creek the Province aforesaid bounded __ __ vacant land on every side and hath __ form and marks as appears by a plat __ the original grant annexed together __ __ and singular the woods & underwoods, timber & timber trees, lakes, ponds, fishing waters, water courses, profits & commodities __, hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining as in and by the said grant __ upon record in the Secretary's Office of the said Province __ being thereunto had doth __ and __ appeared. Now this indenture witnesseth that for and in consideration fo the sum of one hundred pounds current money of the Province aforesaid by the said John LEE to the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife in hand at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents well and truly paid the receipt whereof the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife doth hereby acknowledge and thereof __ __ part and parcel thereof doth fully and absolutely acquit, release and discharge the said John LEE his heirs, executors and administrators by these presents hath said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife hath granted, bargained and sold, aliened, released __ and by these presents doth fully and absolutely grant, bargain, alien, sell, release & confirm unto the said John LEE in his actual possession from being by __ of a bargain and sale to him thereof made by the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife for a one whole year by indenture bearing date the day next before this day of the date of these presents and by __ and virtue of the statute __ uses __ __ that parcel or tract of land containing bounded __ acres situate lying and being as aforesaid together with all & singular the woods & underwoods, timbers, __ ponds, fishing waters, water courses, __ __ commodities advantages __ __ five hundred acres land belonging or in anywise appertaining & then __ __ __ & __ rents, issues & profits thereof and also all the estate, right, title, interest, property, profits, claims & demands whatsoever both in law & equity of him the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife of & the same together with the original grant and all other writings touching or concerning the same and the said Elizabeth as party formed with the said George TAYLOR hath released, resigned and assigned over and quit claim to and by these presents doth fully and absolutely release, resign, assign and make over and quit claim to and by these presents doth fully and absolutely release __ and set __ __ claim unto the said John LEE his heirs and assigns all the right, title, interest, __ dower, claim and demand whatsoever of her the said Elizabeth in and to the said tract of four hundred acres of land and all and singular other the premises and their appurtenances, rents, issues and profits thereof To have and to hold the said tract of four hundred acres of land and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned and intended to be hereby granted and released with their and every of their appurtenances to him the said John LEE his heir and assigns for the sole use of him the said John LEE his heirs & assigns forevermore and jointly & severally he the said George TAYLOR and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their heirs, executors & administrators do covenant, __, and grant __ said John LEE his heirs, executors, administrators & assigns that she the said Elizabeth for the present __ and subject to the act concerning __ being sole trader and requests & desireth that __ __ Province covenant at any and at all times hereafter be made a __ in his Majesty's, his heirs & __ __ of __ whatsoever both of law & equity & that for and notwithstanding any act, matter or thing whatsoever had made, committed, omitted or suffered or to be had made done, committed, omitted or suffered to the contrrary by the said George TAYLOR or Elizabeth his wife or his or her or their family, heirs it shall and __ __ and assigns from __ to __ and at all times hereafter peaceably and quietly to have, hold, use, occupy, possess and enjoy the said tract of land
