pg 297) South Carolina - Pursuant to a precept directed by Egerton LEIGH, Esq his Majesty's Surveyor General dated the 2nd day of Aug 1757 I have surveyed and laid out unto James COBB a tract of land containing one hundred and fifty acres situate lying and being on a branch of Wateree River called Rocky Creek butting & bounding to the SW by land surveyed for John LEE and the other three sides by vacant land. And hath such shape and marks as the plat above doth represent. Certified the 7th day of January 1758.
