Alexander GORDON to Thomas BARKER
pg 578) This indenture made this 21st day of February one thousand eight hundred three between Thomas BARKER of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and Alexander GORDON of the County of Logan and State of Kentucky of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars in hand paid by the said Alexander GORDON to Thomas BARKER the receipt and payment whereof is hereby fully acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Logan in the fork of Red River, Beginning at a black oak in the State line running North ten degrees West one hundred and eighty poles to a black oak and two post oaks, thence North eighty one degrees East one hundred and eighty two poles to a black oak then North ten degrees East one hundred eighty poles to a black oak thence South eighty one degrees West one hundred and eighty two poles to the beginning grated by the State of Kentucky to Thomas BARKER, grant bearing date the thirteenth day of August one thousand seven hunded and ninety seven with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all rents, issue and profits to them or either of them belonging or appertaining to have and to hold the said land and premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Alexander GORDON his heirs


pg 579) and assigns forever and the said Thomas BARKER for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth hereby covenant, promise and agree that he will at all times hereafter warrant and forever defend the said land and premises to the said Alexander GORDON his heirs and assigns against all claims and demands of any person or persons whatsoever whereby the above mentioned premises may be affected or incumbered contrary to the true intent and meaning of these presents In witness whereof the said Thomas BARKER hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.

Logan County, To Wit, I Samuel CALDWELL Clerk to the Court aforesaid doth certify that James GAMBELL, Edmund WILCOX & Michael TROUBOUGH the above named witnesses to the said deed appeared personally before me and made oath that in their presence Thomas BARKER acknowledged the foregoing deed from him to Alexander GORDON to be his act and deed and thereupon the same was admitted to record given under my hand this 14th day of March 1803.
