John MORGAN Admr of the Estate of Elihu LUCE, dec'd vs Thomas P. DANFORTH and his wife Lucretia and Victoria, William & Elihu LUCE, the last three minors - Petition to Sell Land
pg 524) Be it remembered on this day came on this cause to be heard in the report of the Clerk & Master who was appointed to sell said land which report being filled and is unexcepted to and is in all things confirmed by which it appears that said Clerk & Master after duly advertising said land sold the same at the Courthouse door in Huntingdon when John MORGAN purchased the same at the price of one hundred & fifty dollars he being the last & best bidder and it appearing to the Court that said MORGAN is the administrator of said LUCE dec'd and said estate is insolvent. It is therefore ordered by the Court that said MORGAN pay the costs of this suit out of said fund & he pay the residue over to the creditors of said LUCE proratta and it is further ordered that the sale be confirmed & the title of said land be divested out of said heirs & vested in said MORGAN his heirs & assigns forever.
State of Tennessee Carroll County - I John NORMAN Clerk of the Circuit Court for said County do hereby certify that the foregoing is a correct transcript of the final decree in the case where said John MORGAN Admr of the estate of Elihu LUCE dec'd is petitioner and Thomas P. DANSFORTH & wife & others are defendants in a petition to sell land or the same remains now of record in my office. Given under my hand & seal this 15th April 1856.
