pg 111) Know all men by these presents that I William FOWLER of the County of Henry and State of Tennessee for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to me in hand paid before the ensealing hereof by Robert B. GORDON of Carroll County and State the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold and do hereby by these presents give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns forever the following described tract, parcel or lot of land situate in Carroll County and State aforesaid being a part one thousand acre tract of land granted to Thomas DUNN in the twelth surveyors district in range four section first Beginning at the Northwest corner of said tract running East three hundred and ten poles to a hickory the Northwest corner of locative interest, thence South one hundred forty nine and a half poles to a stake with four post oak points, West three hundred and ten poles to a post oak sappling with two hickory and three black oak points, thence North one hundred eighty two and a half poles to the beginning containing three hundred and twenty four acres to have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises together with all the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or anywise appertaining to him the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns forever. And furthermore I the said William FOWLER, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators do hereby covenant unto and with the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns, that before and until the ensealing hereof, I am the true, sole and lawful owner and possesor of the above granted and bargained premises in fee simple; that they are free from all incumbrances and that I have full power and lawful authority to convey the same to the said Robert B. GORDON in manner aforesaid and will forever warrant and defend the same to him the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims and demands of any and all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof I the said William FOWLER have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two. pg 206) This indenture made the 10th day of June A.D. eighteen hundred and thirty four by & between Samuel BENTON of the County of Carroll & State of Tennessee for himself and agents of Jesse BENTON of the County of Shelby and State aforesaid of the one part and John MORGAN of the County of Carroll and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum twenty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, sold aand conveyed and by these presents doth bargain, sell and convey to the said John MORGAN a certain tract of land lying and being in the County of Carroll on Sandy River running as follow (viz) beginning on the East side of Sandy River at the Southeast corner of the tract of land purchased by Wm HAMILTON from Samuel & Jesse BENTON thence running West with Wm BLAIR's line to Wm PAGES Southeast corner, thence North with PAGES line to L.F. ELLINS Southeast corner, thence with L.F. ELLINS East boundary line to Tho. READ's Southeast corner, thence with READ's East boundary line to Enoch HOWEY's Southeast corner, thence East to John HORN's line, thence with HORN's South boundary line to Robert JAMISON's line, thence along JAMISON's line to Wm MEDLOCK's Southeast corner, thence along MEDLOCK's line with its meanders to the public Perryville Road, thence still along MEDLOCK's line with its meanders to Wm HAMILTON's Northwest corner, thence along HAMILTON's line South to the beginning containing one hundred acres more or less and the said Samuel & Jesse BENTON doth hereby agree to defend the title of said land against all other claims and confirm the title to the said John MORGAN his heirs, assigns forever. GORDON of the same County and State, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained, and sold and do hereby by these presents give, grant, bargain, seall and convey unto the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns forever, the following described tract or parcel of land situate in the County and State aforesaid on Mud Creek, a branch of Sandy River and bounded as follows - Beginning at a stake on Thomas DUNN's South boundary line running South one hundred poles to a stake and black jack point thence six and a half degrees North of East one hundred and sixty poles to a black oak and post oak point, thence North one hundred poles to said DUNN's South boundary line one hundred and sixty poles with said line to the beginning containing one hundred acres to have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises together with all the priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns forever. And furthermore I the said John MORGAN for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators do hereby covenant unto and with the said Robert B. GORDON, his heirs and assigns that before and until the ensealing hereof I am the true sole and lawful owner and possessor of the above granted and bargained premises in fee simple; that they are free from all incumbrances and that I have full power and lawful authority to convey the same to the said Robert B.
