pg 431) State of Tennessee Carroll County - To all to whom these presents shall come, greeting: Know ye that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to me in hand paid I have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to William MORGAN the following described tract or parcel of land lying in the 7th Civil District of Carroll County Tenn and bounded as follows, viz., Beginning on a small black oak with pointers J.N. COLLINS NW corner of Entry No. 738 on F.J. ROSS' South boundary runs West 90 poles to a small hickory with pointers F. CELACO NE corner thence South 69 1/2 poles to a chestnut with pointers J.N. COLLINS corner of tract on which he lives thence with his E. boundary to a stake in branch sweet gum & willow pointers thence down said branch to a sweet gum with pointers thence S.E. to stake persimmon pointers thence S.W. direction to sweet gum with pointers thence S. with meanders of a swamp to a beech with pointers J.N. COLLINS, J.D. COLLINS corner thence N.E. on J.D. COLLINS N.W. boundary to a post oak with pointers said J.D. COLLINS N.E. corner thence North to the beginning in all 85 acres more or less with the hereditaments and appurtenances To have and to hold the said tract of land with its appurtenances to said William MORGAN his heirs assigns or executors being lawfully seized of said land I do hereby bind myself my heirs assigns and executors to forever defend the right of said land against all lawful claims whatever to said William MORGAN his heirs and assigns given under my hand and seal Feb 24, 1879.
