J.H.B. WOODWARD/N.J. WOODWARD To E.A. MORGAN
pg 584) Know all men by these presents that we J.H.B. WOODWARD and wife N.J. WOODWARD of Huntingdon Tenn have this day bargained, sold & do hereby transfer and convey unto E.A. MORGAN of said town of Huntingdon Tenn for and in consideration of two hundred dollars payable as follows, one hundred dollars to be due Dec 25, 1901 & one hundred dollars to be due Dec 25th 1902 for which payments, notes are executed and delivered bearing date with this deed with interest at 6% per annum from date until paid a certain lot or parcel of land lying, being situated on Woodland Street in said town of Huntingdon beginning on the West margin of said Woodland Street at the Southeast corner of a lot owned by Jno F. NEELY and runs West with said NEELY's South line 186 feet to said NEELY's Southwest corner, thence South 96 feet more or less to the Northwest corner of a lot owned by Mrs M.E. GRIZZARD thence East with Mrs M.E. GRIZZARD's North line 186 feet to Woodland Street, thence North with West margain of Woodland Street 96 feet more or less to the beginning to have and to hold the same to said E.A. MORGAN his heirs and assigns forever. We covenant

MORGAN that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said lot of land have a good right to convey the same and that this unencumbered we further covenant and bind ourselves, our heirs and representatives to recover warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claim of all persons whomsoever. It is expressly understood and agreed that a lien is retained on the land herein conveyed to secure the payment of the notes herein mentioned witness our signature & seals this 2nd day of March 1901. WOODWARD the within named bargained with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained and J.N. WOODWARD wife of the said J.H.B. WOODWARD having appeared before __ and __ __ understand the __ WOODWARD __ the execution of the said deed to have __ __ __ voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein assessed.
