Petition to move Precinct
Now on this day comes Alex GORDON Esqr. and presents the petition of many citizens of Lick Mountain township praying the Court to make an order to remove the precinct or place of voting to Carter SHEARIN's Spring or the WHITESIDE's place known as the Peter CLINGMAN old place for sundry reasons, the Court after being fully advised of and concerning the premises ordered that the precinct be moved from the R.J. SCROGGINS place to the SHEARIN place as aforesaid and ordered that all elections hereafter held in Lick Mountain township be held at the Carter SHEARIN Spring place at the WHITESIDES residence.
Report of Road Views.
Now on this day comes Jacob HARTWICK, Maldur HOLDER & James BRADLEY three citizens of Walker township appointed to view a road and make their report as follows,
State of Arkansas County of Conway - To the Honorable County Court of Conway County January five 1861, we the undersigned would respectively show to your Honorable Court that at the last Oct term of your Court they were appointed to view the Batesville Road beginning at the BLAYLOCK place and intersecting the Springfield Road at or near James BRADLEY's they would represent that they met in accordance with the provisions of the order of the Court, were sworn as the law directs and proceded to and did view said road as required by law and would represent that in there judgement the road should remain as it is, it being the nearest and best road in the County from the respective places. Jacob HARTWICK, Maldur HOLDER, James BRADLEY viewers.
The above report has this day been __ approved and ordered to be made the order of this Court.

Now on this day comes A. GORDON School Commissioner of Conway County and files a statement and shows to the Court that he has not had time to make a thorough investigation of the ___ as the same was ___ ___by the former Commissioner and will endeavor to be ready at the next term of the County Court to make a good showing and asks the Court to allow him the priviledges of employing counsel to assist him in fixing up his papers and for advice and to employ him by the ___. The Court after due consideration granted the prayer of said petition and ordered the same to be placed on file.

The Court after due consideration and being fully advised in the matter, fully adopted the appointment of Home Guards of the different townships of Conway County and appointed as their Chief Robert L. CARGILE and ordered that the said be commissioned as required by the Ordinance and adopted in this case and that the men ___ appeared as such Guards have a ___ compensated called in to issue by their chief or Captain.
Now on this day the Justices of the Peace of the different townships of Conway County forming this Court. Now on this day comes J.W. ___ Esqr and files a petition praying the Court to make an appropriation out of the internal improvement fund of Conway County for the purpose of equipping the different volunteers, companys who have volunteered and those who may hereafter volunteer consisting of sixty four privates ___. The Court after due consideration and being fully advised in the petition granted the prayer of said petition and now on this day it is moved and seconded that there be an appropriation of five hundred dollars appropriated out of the internal improvement fund ___ which was inasmuch adopted and now on this day it is ordered by the Court that a ___ of five hundred dollars be issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court against the Internal Improvement Commissioner of Conway County Court ___ ___ of the Captain and his company after the __ may be organized to be ___ out of the first ___ ___ ___ not otherwise appropriated and that the Commissioner is hereby ordered to pay the sum to ___ ___ out of any money in his hands not otherwise appropriated.

Now on this day the following named persons were appointed and ordered by the County Court to serve as grand jurors at the August term of the Circuit Court A.D. 1865 to be begun and held on the 7th day of August A.D. 1865 in the town of Springfield in Conway County State of Arkansas, as follows to wit,

Now on this day it was ordered that the clerk to pay to each and every grand juror the full amount of his services upon making the claim of attendance.
Now on this day Wm R. HINKLE presented to the Court his bond as clerk and ex-officio recorder for Conway County, Arkansas, which was examined and approved and ordered that said bond be filed for record. Now on this day it was ordered by the court that N.W. MOORE, Sheriff of Conway County, be and is hereby appointed a Commissioner faithfull power to have the bridge across the North fork of Cadron Creek repaired, that he will advertise for the receiving of bids for said bridge by the first Monday of August 1865, that he will let said contract to the lowest bidder, said bidder will enter into bond for the faithful performance of said work and for the completion of the same by the first day of October 1865, said contractor will be paid out of any County funds not otherwise appropriated, said Commissioner will make report at the next term of County Court.
Now on this day L.C. O'BARR presented to the court by bond as Internal Improvement Commissioner for Conway County, Arkansas, which was examined and approved and it was ordered that said bond be filed for record.

Now on this day comes B.D. ATKINS and J.W. DUNCAN Esqrs. and files their account against Conway Co. for services rendered as Associate Justices amounting to four dollars each which was examined by the Court and approved and ordered to be paid.

pg 288) At a County Court commenced and held in the town of Springfield Conway County Arkansas on Monday the second day of July A.D. 1866 it being the regular Court in cases, present the Honorable J.P. STOCKTON County and Probate Judge and B.D. ATKINS Associate Justice when among other the following proceedings came __, to wit,
It is ordered by the Court that J.W. DUNCAN Esqr. be summoned to assist in holding the present term of the Court owing to Samuel HUGHART Esqr. an Associate Justice resigned.
