Will of Mary Christie
Last will and testament of Mary Christie dated September 7, 1867 and proved March 18, 1872
In the name of God, Amen.
I, Mary Christie, of the town of Caledonia Countyy of Livingston and State of New York, being of sound mind and memory, do make, publish, and declare this my last will and testament, in manner following; that is to say:
First - I give and bequeath to my son Daniel H. Christie fifty dollars,
Second - I give and bequeath to my daughter Katharine fifty dollars,
Third - I give and bequeath to my daughter Jennette one hundred dollars,
Fourth - I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Ann one thousand dollars, and also, my China set of dishes, and my silver tea-pot, and one set of silver tea-spoons, silver butter knife and sugar tongs, also my sofa and rocking chair, also my boughten carpet, and one pair of silver candle sticks,
Fifth - I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary one thousand dollars, and also my silver forks, one set of silver tea-spoons, one cream spoon, one pair of silver candle-sticks, and nine white handled knives, one glass pitcher, and my newest bedstead, and one set complete crockery ware for bed-room, including wash bowl and pitcher, and my striped carpet.
Sixth - I give and bequeath to my son Charles my rag carpet, hall carpet, and stair carpet and rods, my window shades, my hall table, all my common table dishes and cooking utensils, one large bible, and one wash stand, and the bedstead he now occupies, and two feather beds, one blue coverlid and three quilts, one new blanket and one mattress, and the bedding used by the hired servants.
Seventh - I give and bequeath to my grand-daughter Mary McMillan fifty dollars,
Eight - I give and bequeath to my grand-daughter, Dora McNaughton fifty dollars,
Ninth - I give and bequeath to my daughters Jane Ann and Mary my six silver table spoons to be divided equally between them,
Tenth - I give and bequeath to my son Clinton one hundred dollars,
Eleventh - After the requirements of this deed are satisfied the balance of the money I may have at my decease, I give and bequeath to my sons Charles and Archibald and my grandson Hugh Christie, to be divided equally among them, but the share which shall be due to my grandson Hugh Christie shall not be paid to him until he arrives at the age of sixteen years, in case of his dying before that time the money shall be paid to my daughter Jennette.
Lastly - I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons Daniel H. Christie and Charles Christie to be the executors of this my last will and testament; hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this seventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven.
