1841 Wales Census for Upper Ystradvelltey, District 1, Breconshire County the year following John's death, showing the now widowed Gwenllian (age 40) at the bottom of the first page and five of her six children: Margaret (age 12), Thomas (age 10), Rees (age 7), Gwenllian (age 6), and Jenkin (age 4). 1973 Copy of a rough draft of a Madoc Historical Society letter, an organization created by Rulon S. Howells, President of the Thomas Howells and Ann Francis Howells Family Association, in an effort to open-up better access to Welsh records. (Note the non-Utah address designed to avoid any possible prejudicial response.) The intention was to send this letter to multiple vicars in Wales in an attempt to obtain previously unavailable "Non-Conformist" records.
