At least two of his children are known to have come to Australia. Both, it would seem, they were here some time before their father. His eldest daughter, Thomasine Maria Hollow came to Australia around 1859 with her husband John Trannick Williams.
A son, James Henry Hollow was already in Australia, having arrived some time before 1858.
Thomasine married John's brother Francis Trannick Williams in 1867 at Pleasant Creek, near Stawell. They had two children before Francis also died (1869). Thomasine married yet again to a John Birch at Stawell in 1875 and they had one child. John Birch was a neighbour and was the informant at the death of Francis.
Thomasine died of breast cancer at Marrackville, NSW, and was buried at Rookwood cemetary. Her death certificate state that she spent some time in Victoria and 37 years in NSW. Thirty seven is possibly the total number of years she was in Australia rather than in the state of NSW.

Much of the information presented was supplied by a descendant of Thomasine Hollow from Karalee, Qld.
James came to Australia some time prior to 1858 and settled at Gulgong in NSW, another gold mining area.
Much of the family details have been supplied by a descendant of James from Orange, NSW.
James HOLLOW born Sun 08th JUN 1834 Redruth, Died Mon 29th May 1905 Gulgong NSW, married Alice Alicia WILLIAMS Sat 31st July 1858 at St Mary's Cathedral in Sydney NSW. James was a stone mason from South Head Road, Sydney and Alice was a servant from York Street, Sydney.
James and Alice bought drays and bullocks, and eventually arrived in Merrindee, in the Mudgee area. Here James worked with his brother-in-law, Joseph Williams, and James Endacott. They worked at gold mining and at stonemasonry. Four of James and Alice's children were born at Merrindee. Around 1864 they moved to Gulgong, NSW.
After arrival at Gulgong, James and Alice selected 100 acres at Canadian Leed, to this they eventually added another 100 acres. James met with great success, when gold was struck at Stott's paddock. He pegged two claims in his name and one in Alice's. He sank a shaft on his and found payable gold, he then sold Alice's claim for five pounds, which eventually turned out to be the best claim in the field. He never forgave himself for selling, nor did Alice forgive him.
James and Alice built a home on their land (next door to the Williams), and s few years later as the family grew, they rebuilt a stone slab home, with walls about eighteen inches thick. It was called "Roseneath" and still stands. The rest of the family were born in this home. The property is still owned and farmed by the Hollow family.
