|Last Will & Testament of Samuel Hatfield
I Samuel Hatfield of Kosciusko County in the State of Indiana do make and publish this my Last Will & Testament herby Revoking and making Void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. First I direct that my Body be decently intered, and my Funeral be conducted in a manner correponding with my Estate and Situation in Life and as to such wordly Estate as it has pleased God to Entrust me with.
I direct first that all of my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my death as possible out of the first money that shall come to hands of my Executor, from any portion of my estate. Real or personal. I also direct that my son Richard Hatfield have the sum of one dollar and William Hatfield have the sum of one dollar and also Martin Hatfield have the sum of one dollar and also my Daughter Elizabeth Penolt and Samuel Hatfield have the sum of one dollar each. The rest (rist) ? of my hano (land)(hand)? John Hatfield, Jacob Hatfield & Sarah Hatfield and Henry Hatfield is to share each and all equally in the remainder of my Estate Real and Personal at my decease. With the exception of my prestent Wifes Maintaince which they are Bound each and every one to spare (share) eaqually in the maintainance. That is John Hatfield, Jacob Hatfield & Sarah Hatfield, and Henry Hatfield, the four Last mentioned and if they should neglect to see her the said widow above mentioned, decently provided for, then and in that case, she is (unreadable) entitled to her Dawer

Examination of James Bradley subscribing Witness to the annexed Last Will and Testament of Samuel Hatfield Deceased, taken before the undersigned, clerk of the Probate Court of Kosciusko County, Indiana on this sixth Day of September A.D. 1851. The said Witness Being first duly sworn deposed as follows:
Question 1st Were you a witness to the Execution of the annexed Instrument of writing, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Samuel Hatfield Deceased?
Answer 1st I was.
Question 2nd Was the said Will executed in by said Testator in your presence, and in the presence of the other subscribing witnesses, and was the same subscribed by the witnesses thereto in the presence of said Testator and in the presence of each other?
Answer 2nd It was.
Question 3rd Did the said Samuel Hatfield declare the same to be his Last Will & Testament?
Answer 3rd He did
Question 4th Was he the said Testator of sound Mind, Memory and discretion at the time of its Exceution?
Answer 4th He was.
Question 5th Was the said Testator under any coercion or restraint whatever in the execution of said Will?
Answer 5th Not to my Knowledge.
Question 6th how old was said testator at the time of executing said Will?
Answer 6th About fifty seven years of age.

Kosciusko County I Samuel H. Chipman Clerk of the Probate Court of Kosciusko County Indiana certify the foregoing to be the written examination of James Bradley subscribing Witness to the Last Will and Testament of Samuel Hatfield Deceased. The said James Bradley was on this day first duly sworn by me and upon examination answered and testified as above set forth, which Testimony being written down by me was read to and duly subscribed by said Witness.

Chipman Clerk of the Probate Court of Kosciusko County, Indiana, do herby certify that the within Will has this day been duely admitted to Probate befoe the undersigned Clerk of the Probate Court of said county, and that a full and complete Record of said Will, proofs and examination of James Bradly subscribing witness therto, by whom the will was proven has been duly Recorded in Record of Wills No One Pages 108, 109., 110
