In the 1920 St. Joseph Co., Indiana census Murl is shown living in the household of his parents, William and Anna Hatfield. He is listed as single, 25 years of age and a machinest. In addition to his parents William and Anna his sisters Opal, Ada and Thelma where living there. There were also three lodgers in residence at that time, Elmer Jaquith, Frank Schmeltz and Charles Schmeltz. Opal Hatfield later married an Elmer Jaquith, but I don't know if this is him as his age is 45 and she was 21.

(Ella Juanita MYERS was born on February 3, 1900 in St. Joseph Co., South Bend, Indiana, died on August 18, 1947 in Kent Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan and was buried on August 20, 1947 in Rosedale Memorial Park, Kent Co., Michigan.) The cause of her death was pneumonitis (Virus) due to Myocardial degeneration.
Murl also married Ethel Bell JONES, daughter of John Paul JONES and Minnie Bonnel UNKNOWN. (Ethel Bell JONES was born on November 29, 1895 in Michigan, died on May 21, 1981 in Maricopa Co., Phoenix, Arizona and was buried in Greenwood Memorial Park, Phoenix Arizona.)
