John 'Joseph' LIKES

   Another name for John was Joseph Likes.

   General Notes:

John Likes and his parents, George and Eve Likes, moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio prior to 1830 and John grew to manhood there. Just prior to 1850, John and family moved from Ohio to Indiana and homesteaded a farm south of Long Lake and
Northeast of South Milford, Indiana. He later settled in Michigan and both he and his wife are buried side by side in Mount Pleasant Cemetary, Sodus, Michigan. They farmed in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. They also had a peach orchard in
Berrian County, Michigan.

John married Abigal CHILDS, daughter of James CHILDS, on June 30, 1836 in Wayne Co., Ohio. (Abigal CHILDS was born on October 8, 1812 in Ohio, died on September 5, 1881 in Michigan and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Cem. Sodus, Michigan.)
