She was the widow of Ernest Deschaine who died March 4, 1984 and the daughter of the late Nazaire and Marie A. (Dostaler) Chainay. Her father, Mr. Chainay, was a benefactor of St. Anthony of Padua Church in New Bedford and donated the funds for the main altar at the Church. She was a communicant of St. Anne Church. Mrs. Deschaine was a winder tender at the former Hoosac Mills and retired in 1968. Survivors include a sister, Claire Lebeau of New Bedford; seven nieces; and great nieces and great nephews. She was the sister of the late Diana Faunce, Beatrice Harrop, Cecilia Proulx, Alexina Macomber and Elzear, Philodore and Philip Chainay. Arrangements for her funeral are incomplete. Arrangements are by the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County St.

(Chainay) LeBeau, 77, of Marion and formerly of New Bedford, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Sippican Healthcare Center after a long illness. She was the widow of Lionel E. LeBeau. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Nazaire and Medora (Perron) Chainay, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in New Bedford. Mrs. LeBeau was formerly employed as a presser at Catelli's Cleaners for over 25 years until her retirement. Survivors include a granddaughter, Nora-Jeanne Donovan of New Bedford; and two nieces, Pauline Cormier of New Bedford and Blanche Afthemeades of Fairhaven. She was also the mother of the late Jeremiah F. Donovan. Her memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Anne's Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery and will be private. Arrangements are by Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
