Rachel Anno married Hamilton Cook November 30, 1854 at the Christian Church. Hamilton Cook was born in Berkeley County, West Virginia. on September 1, 1835. His father, Thomas D., was born in Virginia and was a farmer by occupation. His mother was Susan Light, and was a native of the same state. Thomas's father was Samuel Cook a native of Ireland. Samuel Cook came to Virginia, and the family came West in 1841 to Marshall Township in Platte County, Missouri. Samuel Cook had six children: Thomas D., John H., Martha, Mary Cook, Lucinda, and William H. A marked characteristic of Thomas D. Cook was his sterling integrity and high sense of honor. He was for years connected with the Methodist Church, of which he was an earnest and consistent member. Thomas Cook died March 21, 1880, aged 67 years, I month, and 29 days, leaving two children: Hamilton and Wesley B. Cook. Mr. Cook's widow died five weeks after him. Susan Light died May 6, 1880, aged 73 years, 6 months, 5 days. They are buried in the Cook cemetery. A John S. Light is also buried in the same plot. He was born March 28, 1794 and died January 25, 1868. This maybe the father of Susan Light. The farm of Hamilton Cook embraced 380 acres, and he improved it in a thorough manner and with an eye to taste only less that to durability and comfort .
