How she met Alfred isn't known either but their meeting ended in a marriage that lasted the rest of their lives and the raising of our family. After the death of Alfred, Velma moved to Latah, WA and stayed there until having to come to Toledo, OR where she lived until going into the care center in Lincoln City, OR where she died of ventricular arrhythmia due to diabetes mellitus or atherosclerotic heart disease. Probably the former, she was diabetic. She was brought to her former home to buried next to Alfred in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
