Funeral of Mrs. Luke -
The funeral of Mrs. Charles E. Luke was held this morning from the funeral home of J.J. O’Neil on Stow Avenue and later from St Michael’s Church where a requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. William F. Browne. The church organist played and Mrs. J. J. O’Neil rendered “Miserere” as a processional, “Ave Maria” at the offertory and “Softly and Tenderly” at the conclusion of the mass. Bearers were John J. O’Brien. John J. Boisseire, Joseph Shackett, Victor and Paul Seney and Warren Hopson. Internment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery where Father Browne officiated. He also visited the funeral home this morning and recited prayers.
