WILLIAM “BILL” GROVER DOZIER
, 75, died
at 6:50 a.m. March 2, 2006, at his residence, after a long battle with chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease.
He was born March 2, 1931,
in
Barbourville, Ky., to George and Cecil Hall Dozier, who preceded him in death.
On Sept. 23, 1950, he m a r r i e d Thelma
Mason, who survives.
Mr. Dozier was retired
from
M & F Littleken Company, where he had been a construction worker and
carpenter. He was a member of the Lima Missionary Baptist Church. He was a
corporal in the Air Force during the Korean conflict, and was a member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars in Wichita Falls, Texas. He loved to fish and camp.
Survivors also include seven children, William Gary Dozier,
George (Lillie) Dozier, Timothy D. Dozier, and Cathy (Steve) Harris, all of
Wichita Falls, Texas, Sherry (Richard) Welch of Bluffton, Mary L. Dahill of
Terre Haute, Ind., and Vicki (Bob) Bigelow of Elida; 19 grandchildren, 20
great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Dozier; a
grandson, Joseph William Dozier; and a great-granddaughter, Jasmine Dozier.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Lafayette Missionary
Baptist Church. The Revs. Terry Brock and Ken Waldroup will officiate. Burial
will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6
to 8 p.m. Sunday at Siferd Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel.
