Welcome to Lords Family site

We have a great family history that we would like to share with you.

Many of us are direct descendants of William Spencer Lords and Mary Ann Nerdin.

There are many stories circulating about William Spencer Lords and his ancestors. While some of us think we have found his parents, grandparents, and great grandparents others have questioned this. This is a time when we need to come together and search for the information and it's sources. Back when I was doing research on the Lords Family and no others I pieced together a couple of generations from the old IGI. Where this information is secondary and not all that reliable it is all I have for the time being.

This last year has seen some serious research being done on the Lords Family . No changes were added to the new update, but they will appear later.

The Life of William Spencer Lords

What a man we have descended from
He fought in the Blackhawk War
All the while to Utah he did come
This is where he married his loving wife
And they spent the rest of his life
With the Mormons he did come out west
For this is what he thought best

There were times of sadness and joy
They had many children both girls and boys
They had fifteen children - amazed
Unfortunately they were not able to see them all raised

When child number eight came
David Nurden Lords was his name
Just how many more kids were to be sent by fate
They did not know but all they had to do was wait
Half way there
Continue on we dare
For there were seven more to arrive
He saw most of them live their lives

After herding cattle for many years
He put the reins away to stay home with his dear
After 51 years of marriage
He went on his last ride in a carriage

In 1904 he was buried in Idaho
Where he could watch his descendants grow

I am excited to bring you great news about the possibility of this Lord/Lords line being connected to the Lord line that married into the Hathorne's (Hawthorne's).

William Spencer Lords ancestors came to the United States in the mid to late 1700s while this other line was here in the 1600s. From what I have found they lived in the same areas during the same time period. I believe I put Salem in the family journal, but the actual area was Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts. This is too much of a coincidence to not research further. To add another twist to this heritage age old question... "Who are William Spencer Lords parents"? Some have found clues leading to his grandfather being Hessian and fighting in the American Revolution. I have seen no proof of this. If anyone has any knowledge of records that could help further our Lords research it would be greatly appreciated.
