Eliphas is a farmer by occupation, and emigrated to Ohio in 1818, locati ng in what was then Madison Co., but what has since been organized into Un ion Co. After a short residence here, he returned to his native State, mar ried Lydia Mecham, came back and established a permanent home in Union C o. He still survives at the advanced age of 81 years, one of the highly re spected and valuable citizens of the county, and one of her pioneers. H is wife, Lydia, deceased in 1867, aged 71. He had five sons and three daug hters, one son(Jared) dying in his youth; one(Lucas at Vicksburg) in the s ervice of his country, and one daughter(Dorcas S.) in early life ; the oth ers live in the vicinity of the homestead. He has been prominently identif ied with the offices of the township in which he resides, being Assessor f or over thirty years, and Justice of the Peace, and has done a great de al of administrator's work. For several winters after locating here, he oc cupied the role of a teacher, on pay at the rate of $8 per month, boardi ng himself. Andrew is the third of the family, and has made "tilling of t he soil" his life occupation. He was educated in the district school, a nd remained at home till he grew to manhood, making his first permanent lo cation at his present place, in the spring of 1856, where he ha since resi ded. He has been married twice-first, in 1855, to Virginia E. Crawford bo rn in Mechanicsburg, of Virginia ancestors; they had three sons ; in 186 6, he married Nancy M. Amy, a native of Union Co.; one daughter has been t he issue of this union. Prudence Amy, mother of Mrs. Burnham, became a res ident of Union Co. fifty one, and of this county forty-five, years ago, a nd still survives at the advanced age of 84, with her mental and physic al powers well preserved. Mr. B. finds his political views in the Republic an party, and his religious in the Universalist Church. - The History of Union County, Ohio

St Paris Precinct Toll Book Nov 2 1880 CCGS Newsletter Spring 1992 pg 33 Ezekiel Everingham

From:tphillips@phillynews.com (Phillips, Tom) The Ezekial Everingham (or Everham as he was known by) was born in 1795 po ssibly in or around Nottingham NJ, now known as Hamilton Sqaure. He marri ed Ann Journee on March 7, 1821 in Monmnouth County NJ by James G. Herbe rt (civil marriage?). They lived in Nottingham, now known as Hamilton Sq uare NJ, but appeared to move to Champaign Ohio by the 1850 Census. I bel ieve he had connections with Joshua Evernham who married Ann Taylor and mo ved to Ill. by the 1860 Census.

His wife appears to come from a family that had roots in present day Ea st Windsor NJ and Freehold NJ. I feel rather stronbgly that this might be one of the missing childr en of a Henry Everingham who was born around 1764 and farmed in the East W indsor NJ area. He was reputed to have had total of 16 children, but on ly the last 4 children with his 4th wife Rebecca James, have ever been doc umented and recorded. (They were, starting in 1815; Henry, Ellison, Mart ha & Aaron Radford). I strongly believe that your Ezekial could have be en a son from his first or second marriage. The choice of Henry as the fi rst name of his first born may be indicative of this. tphillips@phillynews.com (Phillips, Tom)

BRECOUNT & SONS, grain dealers, Conover. During the summer of 1855, S.G. B recount and brother cleared away the unbroken forest, where the villa ge of Conover is now located, and erected a warehouse on the Columbus, Piq ua & Indiana Railroad, which is now known as the Cincinnati, Columbus & In diana Central Railroad, a through line from east to west. The structure a nd capacity of the building was based upon expected patronage of the energ etic farmers of the surrounding vicinity. On Oct. 11, of the same fall, th ey purchased their first load of grain from John Wolcott, Jr. S.G. Brecou nt & Bro. carried on their business with some inconvenience and pecunia ry disadvantages for a few years, but with a liberal patronage. Their part nership continued until 1858, when S.G. Brecount retired from its duties a nd turned it to his son, A.L. Brecount (the firm now being J.D. & A.L. Bre count). During this partnership, gradual improvements were made in the man ner of handling grain. In 1859 or 1860, the third member, J.C.White, engag ed in the business, forming the firm of Brecount & White. They also open ed the first store in Conover, stocking it with general merchandise, whe re they soon built up a healthy trade in connection with the grain busines s. This firm transacted business until 1861, or 1862, when a third chan ge took place, and the business was managed by J.D. Brecount alone until 1 864, when E.R. Doup with the above, formed the firm of Brecount & Doup, wh ich lasted one year only, after which J.D. Brecount transacted the busine ss alone until 1871. During this time the grain had been weighed on sma ll scales in the house. At the last date, G.W. Brecount formed the fi rm of Brecount & Son, and large Fairbank scales were added to their facili ties of weighing grain. In June, 1877, the last change took place by E. A. Brecount forming the firm of Brecount & Sons. During the past all the g rain was handled in the original building. In the fall of 1877, their corn -house was erected, with a capacity sufficient to store 8,000 bushels of c orn. Their dump for unloading corn is one of the best in the county. The ir advantages for loading on the sidetrack are such that a car has been lo aded in the small space of ten minutes. In the summer of 1879, they remode led their first structure, erected in 1855. To this extra facilities we re added to those previously connected with the building, and the followi ng winter an office and scale-house were fitted up. They are now well situ ated and are doing a business second to none in the township. The first ye arly shipments of the firm were small compared to those of 1879, which we re 525,000 bushels of wheat; corn, 33,500; oats, 27,000 and flax, 2,500. J .D. Brecount has, during the past transactions, held the leading positi on of the firm. He now entrusts the business, principally, to the junior m embers of the firm, who are intelligent, bright and thorough going young m en. They are making an excellent reputation as good businessmen. J.D. Brec ount was born in Hamilton Co., Ohio, April 16, 1827, and is a son of Jo hn and Sarah (Williams) Brecount. In childhood, with their parents, they e migrated from New Jersey to Ohio on Flat-boats, locating where now the lim its of Cincinnati extend. Here John Brecount, when a lad of 14 years of ag e, engaged in blacksmithing, serving as apprentice until he was 21, when h is trade was completed. He did but little at this business during lif e; he was otherwise variously engaged, passing through the pioneer da ys of Hamilton Co., sharing many of the difficulties connected with the w as of 1812, of which he was a participant; in 1837, he and family became r esidents of Champagne Co., where John and Sarah remained until in feeble s tate of health, they came to Miami Co., to receive the care of their child ren, where they both passed away. Their children were twelve in numbe r, of whom three are now living; J.D., the only son, was brought up to agr iculture pursuits, and, in his early life, had limited school privilege s; he came to Miami Co. in the same year the grain business was opened; lo cating, with his brother, where the village is now built; at that ti me it was all in the woods; there he has since made and seen many change s, and his finances have much improved. Outside of his grain busines s, he owns 170 acres in Sec. 12, Brown Township, Miami Co., which is und er good cultivation and is well improved. March 27, 1849, he married Esth er A. White, who was born in Pennsylvania March 26, 1828; three sons are t he fruits of their union, viz., George W., Asa S. and Edgar A. History of Champaign Co, Ohio, Beers 1881

Pg 457 Earliest Settlements The year 1811 marked the arrival of the first actual settler in the pers on of Asahel Wilkinson, a Virginian, who settled on Section 14. We will st ate in this connection that he was a great hunter, and paid for his land w ith the proceeds of furs taken from the game he killed. On his land were l ocated sulphur springs, which were noted by the Indians as containing medi cinal properties. The citizens of the forest often congregated here to he al their sick. They also indulged in shooting matches, generally selecti ng a spot in the vicinity of the spring. Upon Wilkinson's arrival, his ca sh possessions amounted to just $200 in silver. The money he secret ed in a stump near the springs. This stump was selected for a target by t he redskins during one of their expeditions. Mr Wilkinson was absent fr om home and Mrs W entertained fears that the money would be discovered a nd carried off by the "sharp-shooters", but fortunately her worst fears we re not realized. Six Indian families camped at this place on one occasio n, including a "Big Medicine Man" whose wonderful cures attracted the sett lers for miles around. On this farm was erected a block-house during the I ndian troubles. Wilkinson was on friendly relations with a number of the s avages, but was insecure from those unacquainted with him. The latter arra nged to attack the settlers in this neighborhood on a certain night. Wilk inson was apprised of this intended massacre by some of his dusky friend s, and with his neighbors and their families retreated to the fort. They r emained there for several days, but their cabins remained unmolested; t he intended attack had been abandoned by its projectors.

pg 458 Biographies of Early and Prominent Settlers. Asahel Wilkinson was born in Harrison Co, VA on September 16, 1776. Natu re had destined him for a hunter, as was seen by his constant trips to t he woods in search of game. When quite young he was married to Charity Rag en. Up the year 1811, their union had been blessed with four children- Wi lliam, Mary, Thomas and Joseph. Making a living in Virginia was at that ti me a difficult task, and the outlook for the future was dark and gloomy. " Go to Ohio", was the favorite cry of the Virginians, and a number did g o. Our friend Wilkinson had discussed the advisability of leaving his nat ive soil for a new home in the Northwest, with his better-half. Visio ns of a home and luxury in the beautiful Ohio forests flitted before hi m, while the barren hills of Virginia promised only poverty and desolati on for the future. In 1811, he came to a decision, and, accompanied by h is family and several neighboring families, started on his journey. A f ew days before they commenced their journey, one of their neighbors, wh o, with his family, intended to accompany them, became deranged with the t hought that they would come to want in their new home. His insanity beca me violent, and, in the dead of night, he murdered his wife and nine child ren. This did not deter the others, and , on the appointed day, they start ed, riding on pack-horses. Several of the saddles used on this occasion a re still in the possession of Wilkinson's descendants. When they came to O hio the families separated, Wilkinson coming to this county. He entered 2 60 acres of Section 14, in what is now called Adams Township, paying for t he land with proceeds obtained through the sale of furs. Of the four child ren who came with him, three have gone on that long journey from when ce no traveler returns. Joseph, the only surviving one, lives at Mechanics burg, in this county. Henry H, born April 2, 1813, was the first white ch id born in the township. Mrs Wilkinson died in 1819, and, in 1821, Wilkins on married Nancy James. Of the first marriage, but two children, Joseph a nd Betsy (now Mrs Cicso), are living, the later just north of Careysvill e. From the second union, Asahel and James remain, both owning extensive f arms in the township. During the first years of the township organizatio n, Wilkinson was elected Constable. This position he held for fourteen yea rs. By his death. which occurred February 23, 1861, Adams Township was ber eft of her first settler and one of her most influential citizens.

Pg 465 ....Mr Gershom Calland well remembers the shooting of a deer by Asahel Wil kinson, near his present residence, and the presentation of a portion of t he flesh to Calland's father, although it occurred fifty years ago.

Veteran's of the War of 1812 and there was Asahel Wilkinson listed in Cap t. Benjamin Schooler's Company.

[HI31065] (Research):Dear Mrs. Shinn:

Your application for membership in First Families of Ohio has been review ed and approved on the basis of your descent from the following Ohio pione er:

Asahel Wilkinson Sr. 1811 Champaign County

Your certificate and medal will be presented to you at the 2002 OGS Confer ence, which will be held 19-20-April 2002 at the Toledo Hilton Hotel. Add itional details about the Conference will appear in the December Iss ue of the OGS Newsletter. If you are unable to attend, your certificate a nd medal will be mailed to you after the Conference.

John G. Wilkinson may be eligible, but there appears to be a discrepan cy in his date of birth. His death record places it at 1806, but he is n ot listed as one of the four children that accompanied Asahel to Ohio in 1 811. His placement last in the list of heirs in the partition suit, whi ch appears to be in birth order, would also contradict a birth in 1806. C harity Ragan would be eligible if she is proven to be John;s mother; howev er, this cannot be determined until John;s date of birth is established.

There is also confusion in the Arbogast biography. The biography names Su sannah as the daughter of Peter, who is named as the son of Michael. B ut the letter from the "grandson: names his grandfather as Peter, when t he years would indicate he;s talking about Michael. Further documentati on must be submitted before this line can accepted.

You have until the end of the year for any further documentation to be con sidered for this year's group of inductees. If you have any questions, pl ease do not hesitate to contact me at amy@amyjohnsoncrow.com or at PO B ox 1394 Reynoldsburg, Oh 43068.

Now, in Beers History - no it does not list John G. as accompanying his fa mily, nor many of the other children.

I do have a copy of the page of the 1870 Census for Miami Township - Log an County, which lists John G. Wilkinson's age as 64. Which makes his bir thdate 1806.

On a petition in Champaign County Ohio Common Pleas Ct. Chancery bk 30-3 77 Case 6292 lists the children - but I have to go back and check - b ut I do not think they are not listed in chronilogical age.

[HI31066] (Research):The only thing lacking for the DAR is a legal documentation that ties Susa nnah to Peter (her father) and mother Sarah "Henderson" Arbogast. Beer 's History of Ohio has her listed as Peter's daughter, but the DAR will n ot accept county histories any more. Peter had no will and the distributi on of his goods did not list Susannah or John G. Wilkinson buying anythin g. I have searched for a solid year for some legal connection and many re searchers in Ohio did the same. Not one thing showed up. We spent da ys in Virginia looking for a birth record - church record etc., for Susann ah but came away with nothing. No question that she is not the daught er of Peter and Sarah Arbogast. [HI31085] (Research):History of Wells Co, Indiana PONETO.

PONETO, an enterprising village of 250 inhabitants, is a creature of the r ailroad, not of the company, but of the citizens on account of the railroa d, led by Simeon Tappy and Dr. H. Doster. It is situated about seven mil es southwest of Bluffton, in the extreme southeastern corner of Liberty To wnship, and was laid out by Mr. Tappy, September 4, 1871, he giving the la nd for the depot and paying out money as an inducement to the railroad com pany. The depot here was secured in a successful opposition to Wellsbur g, across Rock Creek to the north, which is consequently an abandoned poin t. It was first named Worthington Crossing, or Worthington, in honor of t he superintendent of railroad; but as it was afterward ascertained th at a postoffice in this State already had that name, a new name was fou nd in 1880 for the place, which it now bears.

When Poneto was laid out the only buildings on the ground were Mr. Tappy 's residence and a saw-mill owned by Dr. C. T. Melsheimer, which was after ward moved away.

The business of Poneto is chiefly conducted by the following: Eph Ruth, ge neral store; Crawford Eddington, also general store; Wilson, grocery; Jose ph Kindlesparger and William B. Jones, blacksmiths; J. F. Moore, shoemake r; John Hardwidge, postmaster, and general store, including hardware; o ne barber shop.

The large brick business block, so conspicuous in Poneto, was built by Jo hn Hardwidge, partly in 1877, and afterward enlarged.

S. M. King's saw and planing mills, with corn-feed mill and flour exchan ge attached, was first set in motion, in part, in 1882 or '83, when Fra nk Courtney brought his saw and planing mills here. He sold to J. B. Pless inger, of luffton, who in turn sold to J. W. Heaton, and the latter to t he present proprietor, in September, 1886. Mr. King employs five or six ha nds, and has in some lines plenty of work to do. Capacity of the saw-mil l, 8,000 feet a day. The flour-mill does excellent work.

At Wellsburg is a tile factory built in 1877, and run by Hardwidge & Coo k.

The Methodist Episcopal Church at Poneto comprises about forty membe rs in full connection. Thomas Barnhower is classleader, and William Singe r, assistant. Simeon Tappy is both local and district steward, and Alexand er Lee is a local steward. Mrs. Henrietta Tappy superintends the Sundaysch ool, which has about fifty scholars. The present church building is a ne at frame, 32x 42 feet, completed in 1880, at a cost of about $1,200. The s ociety was organized eight or ten years ago, with twenty-four members, a nd John Nicely, class-leader, and Isaac Singer, steward. Pastors—Re v. J. W. Paschall, Charles Bacon, J. C. McLin, Henry C. Myers, I. N. Rhode s, Henry Bridge, J. B. Cook and B. S. Holapeter, the present minister. T he greatest periods of prosperity were under the ministrations of Revs. My ers, Bridge, Cook and Holapeter.

The Reifftown Methodist Episcopal Church, a few miles east, has a membersh ip of fifty, probably. Their building is a neat frame, 28x40 feet, built d uring the pastorate of Rev. H. C. Myers, and dedicated August 8, 188 0, by Rev. L. W. Munson.

The Baptist Church at Poneto was organized June 21, 1880, with thirty memb ers, by Rev. B. Howard, a resident of Poneto. The deacon was George Doste r, and clerk, Henry Mann. Present membership, ninety. Deacons, Henry Ma nn and Daniel Jones. The former is still clerk, and is also superintende nt of the Sunday-school, which averages about seventy-five in attendanc e. The house of worship was erected in 1880, at a cost of about $1,700. Pa stors—Revs. B. Howard, James E. Leaky and E. L. Thompson, the present incu mbent, who came from Buena Vista to this place in March, 1886.

The United Brethren Church was organized at Poneto about 1877, under the m inistration of Rev. Beaver, and erected a fine frame church edifice in 188 2, 36x50 feet, seated it, etc., but, failing to satisfy their creditor s, it fell into the hands of the contractor. The society meets at the scho ol-house once in four weeks, where they also maintain a Sunday-school. Pas tors have been: Revs. W. S. Fields, Robert Ross, James W. Nicodemu s, L. T. Johnson and Edward Balduc. Class-leader, Thomas Grove.

The school-house, about 25x30 feet, is constructed of brick, and cost $5 00 or $600. School is taught by Oscar Noe, and the average attendance is a bout fifty.

Liberty Township was first settled by James Jackson and Henry Mossbur g, in the winter of 1836-'37, both of whom are deceased; the latter w as an aged man on his arrival here. During the following autumn ca me G. H. King, before mentioned, and Johnson King, who died March 10, 184 2. The former is the oldest living resident in the township. In 1838 the re arrived here James Hiram Jackson, whose oldest son is still residing he re, and David Chapman, aged and soon becoming blind, who died in an ear ly day. The next year there settled here Stuart Bolton, Benjamin Mendenha ll and John McFarren (grandfather of George F. McFarren, the Bluffton merc hant), all of whom died many years ago; also David Goings, who afterward m oved to Delaware County, and is now living in Kansas; George Sparks, who s old out and lived elsewhere for a time, but is now a resident of the coun ty again; George P. Mann, county surveyor a number of years, now decease d, and James M. Merriman, who still resides upon the farm he first occupie d. In 1840 came John Hupp, who is still living upon his original farm, a nd John Muncie, deceased; and in 1841 Jacob First, who is still livi ng at the "Center," with Mr. J. W. Rinear. He was one of the first truste es of the township, and held that office many years.

The township was organized, and the first election held, at the house of J ohnson King, the inspector, on the first Monday of April, 1842. As there w ere only nine voters at this election, and five of them were required to f ill the board of officers, they did not wish to spend the day in idlene ss after they had all voted; and as the polls could not be legally clos ed until 4 P. M., they covered their ballot box, which was a hat, with a h andkerchief, set it aside, and improved the day in rolling logs for Mr. Ki ng, thereby getting in a full day's work and holding the election at the s ame time.

The names of these nine voters were James Jackson, Henry Mossburg, G. H. a nd Johnson King, Jacob First, John McFarren, David Goings, John Muncie a nd John Hupp.

The first road opened through Liberty Township ran from Bluffton to Jacks on Township, leaving the center of Liberty to the right. It was surveyed w ith a pocket compass, about 1839 or '40. It has long since been obliterat ed by farms. The next road was the present north and south road running th rough the "Center," on a section line.

In aid of the Narrow Gauge road the township paid nearly $9,000.

The first school taught in the township was kept by George F. Mitchel l, in a cabin built by Henry Stites, on section 28. Since then trees ha ve grown up on the site fifty to sixty feet high, but have been cut away a nd the land reduced to cultivation. The second school in the township w as taught by Lorenzo Irwin, in a cabin southwest of Liberty Center.

The Methodist Protestants have an organized society of eleven member s, in the northwestern part of the township, with bright prospects for inc reased strength. In the northeastern part of the township they have a cla ss of fourteen.

Blanch Chapel, Methodist Protestant, two miles west of Poneto, is a fram e, 32x42 feet, erected about 1881. The society, which had been organized m any years previously, now numbers fifty-six.

The "New Lights" have a society at Liberty Union Church, a frame, 30x50 fe et, built in 1873, in the northwestern part of Liberty Township, and fr ee to all denominations.

WORTHINGTON, FIRST VILLAGE

The village is a creature of the railroad, and was laid out by Sime on Tappy September 4, 1871. With Dr. H. Doster, he was chiefly instrument al in the location of the station at this point. Both raised money for t he purpose and paid it out of their own pockets, and Mr. Tappy also donat ed land for the depot site. The latter was finally secured, in successf ul opposition to Wellsburg, across Rock Creek, to the north, which is con sequently an abandoned point. It was first named Worthington Crossin g, or Worthington, in honor of the superintendent of the railroad; b ut as it was afterward found that a postoffice in Indiana already had th at name, it was rechristened Poneto in 1880.

Hello,I just saw your post on the ancestry boards (gatewayed to the Rockin gham Co. VA Rootsweb list) about James Tappy. I have suspected for some ti me that a James Tappy who came to Indiana was a brother of Delilah (& Eliz a) Tappy and wondered about a possible relationship between these people a nd Simeon Tappy. Locally, I have not been able to uncover much about the f amily.Do you have records of the Tappy family prior to their arrival in In diana (or even after, for that matter)?Delilah Tappy is my ggg grandmothe r. I have never been able to prove any connections to the other Tapp ys I found in the area, though I always believed that Phoebe, Eliza and Ja mes were her siblings. Please contact me so that we can share info. I don 't have a lot --my grandmother's family apparently had some "skeletons" a nd hardly any info was passed on. (And I'm not sure which branch of Grandma's fami ly had the possible "skeleton" because they did not share any info !) I am more than willing to help any way in return. Thank you,Diana Cra ig Busche TheCalmOne@kconline.com

I will have to get out my file and get the *good* stuff out, now. :) I ha ve Delilah's Bible. It is horribly fragile and the pencilwriting of her c hildren's birthdates are fading fast. I had itcopied and it is no long er opened, but is preserved now.

As I said before, I don't have a lot. My biggest contribution will be t he birthdates in the Bible. But I may have better info in the future n ow that I have a little more info to work with. My gg grandfather owned p roperty directly across Hwy 218 from Simeon Tappy in Poneto and I always f elt there was some family connection there. My grandmother was born in Po neto and I just moved from Wells county a year ago. To my knowledge, I ha ve no direct family in the county though I recall clipping an article abo ut a 100 year old woman with a surname of Tappy from the local paper so me years ago. Since I was never able to make any reasonable connectio n, I never tried to look up the family. I may do so now and will, of cour se, let you know if there is any success. I also have an entire photo alb um of unidentified family members that belonged to my g grandmother, dat ed approximately 1880 - 1910. Some may be of Tappys, though I believe th ey are more likely Delilah's grandchildren by her daughter Mary Ann (Moll y) Kindle.

I may not have time to get my info until the weekend, but I will *try* li ke crazy to get it to you. If you include it in your work all I ask is th at you do include my contact info in your sources where you use the in fo I give. I will also do the same when referencing your work and the wo rk of others. Thank you so much, Diana Craig Busche

The two David's were 2nd cousins, both married to a Margaret, each wi th a daughter named Cora. This could have been con fusing, as some peop le would know one family, when people would be talking about the other fa mily. I think they lived about 10 miles apart. I don't know that the fa milies visited much, but my dad did visit some of the other Speeces, wh en he had business in DeGraff or in Quincy, each around 10 miles away.

Urbana Citizen & Gazette 1 Aug 1878 On Tuesday of last week Mr. Wm. Speece, residing just north of Heathtow n, was seriously hurt by being caught in a mowing machine while in rapid m otion. The sickle struck the leg just above the ankle and came very near s evering the foot. As soon as the necessary precaution was taken to preve nt the almost fatal flow of blood, he was conveyed to the house and his s on Henry ran in haste to the stable to get a horse to go for a physicia n, when, either from the smell of blood on his clothes or his haste in ent ering the stable the horse became frightened and kicked him several time s, injuring him severely. Drs. Thatcher and Offenbacker were called and re ndered timely aid to the suffering patients. But the day prior Mr. Spee ce had buried a daughter-in-law,* which verifies the old saying that troub les scarcely ever come singly. They have the entire sympathy of the commun ity. [HI31347] (Research):I visited Roseannah Harbour's grave today.(9/10/2002) I could easily re ad Roseann__. I thought it had Harbor. It was, maybe, the closest mark er to the one for Isabelle Speece. The gravestones are very skattered in t hat section. My grandson, Nathaniel, took pictures with his digital came ra & I took pictures with a 35 mm camera. I am thinking that I shou ld do a rubbing on paper of the stone, to see if it will tell us mor e. I am sending a picture of Roseannah Harbour's stone, that my grandson t ook on his digital camera. I don't think that a rubbing of the stone, on p aper, would give much info, as the surface is pitted. I am planning to tr y. I can't tell if the age is 28 or 26. I can't tell if the year is 18 65 or 1863. Rosanna Speece probably died at the birth of Staley Spencer H arbour on 6 September 1863, since William J. Harbour's brother Elisha to ok him to rear.
