NORTH CAROLINA TAXPAYERS 1701-1786

This book only lists the names of the taxpayers resident in about half of the North Carolina counties formed prior to 1786. Is is not a list of ALL taxpayers. They are persons paying property or poll taxes. Most names here are from tax lists from Microfilm Roll 155.108 and 115.49 found in Raleigh NC archives. Supplementing this list are names that have been extracted from The North Carolinian also known as Journal of North Carolina Genealogy. Names of headrights have also been taken.  This book contains about 28,000 names in the following counties with respective years.
