Cochran, Washington, DC.  "JOHN NEWTON was the son of THOMAS NEWTON of Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England after moving to Hull from the County of Northumberland. Says his daughter was MRS. BERRYMAN (deposition 1755). JOHN NEWTON'S wife was MADAM ROSE NEWTON, "aged eighty years or thereabouts," dated July 8, 1709, he is called "Master and Mariner". JOHN NEWTON, JR. married MARY, daughter of COL. ISAAC ALLERTON. They moved early to Stafford County, Virginia (1689-1693)."
