Wm. Walperswiller, Gordonville Farmer, Succumbs at 72.

Wm. Walperswiller, 72 years old, a farmer, died of infirmities of age at his home southwest of Gordonville at 4 a.m. today. He had been sick 11 days.

He was born on the same farm, Dec. 15, 1865 and lived all his life in the Gordonville community. Mr. Walperswiller was married to Miss Emma Diamund more than 50 years ago, and Mrs. Walperswiller died Aug. 29, 1935. Of five children born to the couple only one, a son, William Jr., living at home, survives.

Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Sachse of Oak Ridge and Mrs. Mary Amelunke of near Dutchtown.

The body was to be taken from the Haman Funeral Home to the family home late today and funeral services will be conducted from the home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and at the Zion Lutheran Church, near Gordonville, of which he was a member, at 2 p.m. The pastor, Rev. Seabaugh, will be in charge.

Pallbearers, all nephews, will be Leo and Albert Amelunke, Albert and Charles Dankel, Ed Diamund and Alvin Commiski.

Heart Attack Fatal to Mrs. Mary Amelunke

Mrs. Mary W. Amelunke, aged 71, died suddenly at the home of her son, Albert Amelunke, of a heart attack Monday night. Funeral services will be conducted at the Zion Lutheran Church this afternoon, burial to be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Amelunke was born at Gordonville, Feb. 16, 1877. She married August Amelunke April 12, 1896, who died in 1941. She was a life-long member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Surviving are two sons, Leo and Albert Amelunke of Dutchtown; a daughter, Mrs. Amanda Sprenger of Chaffee; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Mary Amelunke Dies of Heart Attack

Mrs. Mary W. Amelunke, 71 years old, wife of the late August Amelunke, died suddenly of a heart attack at 10 o'clock Monday night at the home of a son, Albert Amelunke at Dutchtown. She was sitting in a chair talking to friends when she was stricken.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church with the pastor, Rev. G.B. Seboldt, in charge. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the Lorberg Funeral Home until noon Thursday.

Mrs. Amelunke is survived by two sons, Leo and Albert Amelunke of Dutchtown; a daughter, Mrs. Amanda Sprenger of Chaffee; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her husband, two sisters and a brother have preceded her in death.

Born Feb. 16, 1877, at Gordonville, she had resided in the community all her life. She was married to August Amelunke on April 12, 1896, and who passed away in 1941. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

August Amelunke, 75, Dutchtown Farmer, Dies

August Amelunke, 75 years old a farmer of near Dutchtown, died at 3:40 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home. He had been ill about eight months with paralysis.

The body was brought to the Seabaugh Funeral Home and funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Zion Lutheran Church near Gordonville by the pastor, Rev. G.B. Seboldt. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Amelunke was born May 3, 1866 in Cape Girardeau and spent all of his life here and at Dutchtown. He was married in 1906 to Miss. Mary Walperswiller.

He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Manda Sprenger, two sons, Leo and Albert Amelunke, all of Dutchtown; a brother, Otto Amelunke of Tilsit; two half-brothers, Martin and Emil Amelunke of Waco, Tex.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Will Ruff of Jackson and Mrs. Amelia Brothers of Colorado, and a step-sister, Miss Lena Wetzel of Denver, Colo.

Farmer at Dutchtown Succumbs at 47 years

Oscar Paul W. Sprenger, 47 years old, a farmer of the Dutchtown community, died at 12:15 a.m. today at St. Francis Hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 10. He had suffered for several months with stomach ulcers.

The body was removed to the Haman Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.

Mr. Sprenger was born in the Dutchtown community Dec. 22, 1890, and spent all of his life there. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving besides his widow is a daughter, Gladys; a brother, Wm. H. Sprenger of Dutchtown, and three sisters, Miss Mary Antoinette Sprenger of Dutchtown, Mrs. August Puchbauer of Jackson and Mrs. Mattie Mabrey of Cape Girardeau.

LEO W. AMELUNKE

Leo William Amelunke, 204 Park drive, 69 years old, died Sunday morning at 11:15 in a hospital here. He farmed for 25 years near Dutchtown, and had worked at Southeast Missouri Hospital here nine years, before retiring in October, 1969.

Mr. Amelunke was born near Dutchtown December 20, 1901, and married the former Miss. Elma Painter, June 15, 1927, at Benton. She survives.

Other survivors are, five sons, Leo W. Jr., Glen F., Robert L., and Eldon E. Amelunke, all of Cape Girardeau, and Hubert N. Amelunke, Ferriday, La., a sister, Mrs. Amanda Sprenger, Chaffee, and eight grandchildren. A son and a brother preceded him in death.

The body is at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 tonight. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Zion Lutheran Church, south of Gordonville, where he was a member.

The pastor, the Rev. G. B. Seboldt, will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Cape Girardeau -- Funeral service for Mrs. Elma A. Amelunke, 204 Park, was held today at Zion Lutheran Church near Gordonville with the pastor, Rev. Karl Leeman, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park with Ford and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Amelunke, 70 years old, died Saturday at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 24, 1909, at Chaffee. She and Leo W. Amelunke were married June 25, 1927. He died Jan. 3, 1971. They moved here from the family farm near Dutchtown in 1965. She was a member of Zion Church.

Survivors include five sons, Leo W. Jr., Glenn and Robert Amelunke of Cape Girardeau, Eldon Amelunke of Springfield, a brother Louis Painter of Eugene, Ore., and nine grand children.

A son, brother, and grandchild preceeded her in death.

Mrs. Elma E. Amelunke, 70 years old, 204 Park, died at 2 Saturday morning at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Mrs. Amelunke was admitted to the hospital after becoming ill while visiting a son at Springfield.

She was born Nov. 24, 1909, at Chaffee, on June l25, 1927, she married Leo W. Amelunke at Benton. He died Jan. 3, 1971.

Mr and Mrs. Amelunke moved to Cape Girardeau in 1965 from the family farm near Dutchtown, where she and her husband had lived for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Gordonville.

Surviving are sons, Leo W. Amelunke, Jr., and Glenn and Robert Amelunke, all of Cape Girardeau. Hubert Amelunke, Vidalia, La., and Eldon Amelunke, Springfield; brother Louis Painter, Eugene, Ore., and nine grandchildren.

A son, Marvin Amelunke, a brother, and a grandchild preceded her in death.

The body is at Ford nad Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 Monday afternoon

At noon Tuesday, the body will be taken to Zion Lutheran Church for service at 1:30 that afternoon with the pastor, the Rev. Karl Leeman, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Robert Lincoln, Larry Sprenger, William Schlege, Fred Peetz, Otto Moore and Paul Propst.
