My Floyd Family
Thomas C. Floyd was born in January 1823 in Spartanburg, South Carolina
(or possibly born as early as 1814 per the 1850 Marion County, Illinois Census),
and died March 14, 1916 in Brumley, Miller County, Missouri. He married (1)
Nancy S. Reynolds on February 29, 1840 in Hardeman County, Tennessee,
daughter of an unknown Reynolds and Sarah F. Nancy was born circa
1825 in Alabama, and died 1859 - 1860 in Brumley, Miller County, Missouri.
He married (2) Elender Reeney or Keeny on September 13, 1866 in
Miller County, Missouri to take care of his children. Elender bore no children
by Thomas and family stories indicate she had no love lost on his. She was
born 1836 in Illinois, and died 1885 in Washington County, Arkansas.
Floyd: Welsh variant of Lloyd denoting a color such as Llwyd, brown, gravy possibly as in hair color. (1)
