H.M. Bodesnstein dies at 71.

Henry M. Bodenstein, 71, a lifetime resident of the Gordonville community, died at a Cape Girardeau nursing home Friday night Aug. 13.  He had been ill for several months.

Mr. Bodenstein was born Jan. 3, 1900 and was baptized Feb. 4 at Zion Lutheran Church.  He was confirmed March 13, 1913 at Christ Lutheran Church at Gordonville where he was also married Feb. 14, 1931 to Miss Emma Schmidt who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Miss Shirley Bodenstein and Mrs. Rodney Strop, both of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. Clarence Schmitzehe of Appaloosa, La.; two brothers, Fred Bodenstein and Walter Bodenstein, both of Gordonville; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Fluegge of Jackson, Mrs. Walter Huter of Burfordville and Mrs. Alvin Huter of Nampa, Idaho, and seven grandchildren.

Funeral servicess were at 2 Sunday afternoon Aug. 15 at Christ Lutheran Church ast Gordonville.  The Rev. Richard Hasz, pastor, officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leo Bodenstein, Ted Rose, Earl Kamp, Marvin Fluegge, Louis Bodenstein, and Albert Kamp Jr.

McCombs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
