OUR BATEMANS

The first Bateman in our line to arrive in America was Sgt. William Bateman who, along with Governor Winthrop, helped settle Charlestown, Massachusetts. As far as I am concerned the authority on our Bateman lineage is the late Dr. Bradley B. Ridge and his work The Bateman Connection: the known descendants of William Bateman of London, England, Charleston and Concord, Massachusetts, and Fairfield, Connecticut. He meticulously documented and cross-referenced his work.

I am not going to attempt to be comprehensive in my coverage. There is simply too much information. I will give you the "skeleton" and hopefully some interesting "rags" to cover it with.
