"I am a blood relative of Rose Oliver (nee Schnell). Her oldest brother, Alonzo is my g-grandfather. I am hopeful you can help me a bit. Here's what I'm looking for. . . . . Rose had a younger sister, Mary Margaret Schnell, who purportedly joined Rose in Washington state (from Wisconsin) when she was married to a Dennett. We have been searching for information on Mary Maggie for some time but have come up empty. Perhaps, in one of Ashley & Rose's wedding photos, if there is a collection of them somewhere, there might be a photo of Mary Maggie and possibly, their mother Viktoria. As you know from your research, turning over many stones sometimes reveals a gold nugget. Thanks for anything you might be able to share." Bruce Schnell. (BSchnell@kc.rr.com).

Bruce is a descendant of Rose Schnell, married to Ashley Fremont OLIVER. Please contact him or this site if you have any information on the missing sister, Mary Margaret.

Ms. Bryan
I took pics of Oliver Head stones and  could send them if you like. Do you know where, Martha, Orris, and, James are buried? Did you know our relatives fought together in 8th Regiment  Minn Vol.  My compliments on your web site -- It is wonderful.  Picture of headstone for Rose (Welch) Oliver,  1879-1937 enclosed. Monte Oliver, Seattle, WA. (Monte descends from James Ashley Oliver, first son of Orris & Martha).
(* Martha & Orris are buried in the Lincoln Cemetery, Guilford Township, Wabasha County. James Ashley Oliver is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Reed's Landing, sharing a plot with a "Kirk" family (who I believe is related to his wife's family Eva Marie Welch - kathy).

Kathryn, I read with interest your web pages about the Oliver family.  I am descended from Robert Oliver, the son of Lancelot Oliver.  Robert was an officer in the Revolutionary War and became a leader in the Northwest Territory in Ohio.   I noticed that one of your references is the Claire Smith manuscript.  I am not familiar with that reference.  Is it a book or a group of documents?   Thank you.   Wayne

I ran across your site, which is very nice. Does your James married to Eva have a son Orris Franklin Oliver married to Mae Rosina Harry? Mae is my 1st cousin 3 times removed. Karen Applen. (Karen was nice enough to furnish a wedding picture of Orris and Mae Harry - thank you Karen).

Hello my name is Richard Traulich.  I recieved your e-mail address from Linda N. Oliver. I've just started on my family tree and needed some info on George L. Bryant listed on her tree.  My Great Gandfathers name was George L. Bryant and I am trying to find out if they are one in the same person.  All I know about my George is he was born in 1870 in Wisconsin,  His Mother was born in New York, and his father may have been born in Ohio.  I know your George was bor in 1870 and Mary Frances (his mother) was born in New York.  When searching the Oliver Tree on the internet it stated that you may have more info on Mary Frances and Charles Bryants children.  Any additional information on there children my help me with my research.  I thank you for your help and if I can help you with any information I would be glad to help.   Rick Traulich rtraulic@mn.rr.com.

Rich is indeed descended from Charles D. Bryant and Mary Frances Oliver (daughter of Orris and Martha). We are happy to hear from you Rich, and thanks for supplying the information on this line.

Newyorkancestry@aol.com - a website that specializes in indexing old rare and out-of-print books relating to northern New York history - owner Pat James); History of Wabasha County, MN.; History of Clinton County, New York and Athol, Past and Present. There are several book stores that are able to obtain these books for you; one of them is Higginson Books in Massachusetts.
