James
Oliver and Hannah _______?. Unfortunately, not much is known yet
about James and Hannah. He was a selectman of Athol in 1772 and
1774. Some history books claim that he left Athol to other parts,
but there are plenty of records that verify they remained in
Athol for a lot of years. In 1775 he was a succesful bidder for
care of an orphan, Thomas Woods, age 14. In 1769 Hannah &
James presented for baptism 2 negro servants. James died before
his father's will was executed and Hannah became Executrix of the
estate. His will in 1783 names only his beloved wife Hannah as
heir, to do with his estate as she sees fit. Lt. James Oliver is
listed as a Revoltionary War soldier, serving under Captain John
Oliver's Co. and Col. Nathan Sparhawk's regiment. Children of
James and Hannah, if there were any, are unknown at this time.
