Crimea

Lest We Forget - This section is dedicated to the memory of the men and women in our families who served their countries, many of whom who paid the ultimate price to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

There are two records regarding the Crimean War:
  1. Timothy Cullinan (also Cullinane) (-1857) was a Sergeant with the 65th Regiment of Foot (British Army). The records state that he enlisted with the British Army at Limerick on December 9, 1848. Timothy was born in Ireland and died on August 1, 1857 in India. He was seriously wounded at Cawnpore during the Indian Mutiny. He served in India and Persia and the family received a medal for this service. The medal is still in the possession of a family member. See also Plate CV.
  2. Thomas Allen Cullinan (c1839-1904) was said to have served during the Crimean War, according to the biographical records provided by the Kansas State Historical Society. This would be difficult to prove. See also Plate CIII.
