General Information
The Cullinan Diamond is the largest cut diamond, weighing 3,106 metric carats. "On January 26, 1905, the surface manager, Frederick Wells, was led by a Black worker to one sidewall of the infant
mine. He pointed to a bright object caught in the sun's rays and embedded in yellow ground some 9 metres below the surface. Wells investigated and dug the object out with his pen-knife. It was an enormous diamond."
