Sources:
  1. Letter from John E. Cullinan of Henrietta, New York dated December 23, 1979 and December 1, 1995.
  2. Telephone Directory Listings (various).
  3. US Census (1920) for the State of Pennsylvania.
  4. US Social Security Records.

Comments:

  1. John E. Cullinan, Jr. lives outside of Rochester, New York and is not one of the original Rochester clan. His family came from Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He has published several books on x-ray techniques.
  2. In the 1920 Census for Pennsylvania, I found this branch of the family living in Hazleton. The birthplace of his grandfather, Patrick E. Cullinan (c1871->1920) is given as Wales, which is somewhat of a surprise; it is possible that the earliest generation of this family may have lived in Wales for a period of time. Patrick’s father, Michael Cullinan, immigrated to Pennsylvania and was naturalized an American citizen on October 2, 1874. The naturalization papers indicate that Michael Cullinan was a native of Ireland.
