Baby in Church Porch

On Saturday afternoon, two Boy Scouts found a baby girl aged about 4 mos. in the porch of the Church of the Annunciation, Bryanston Street W. Yesterday at Marylebone Police Court, Kathleen Cullinane, 22, a biscuit packer, of Richmond Avenue, Willesden Green, was charged before Mr. Ivan Snell with unlawfully abandoning the child. Detective Parish stated that he saw Cullinane at her address and told her he was making inquiries about the abandonment of a child in the doorway of the Church in Bryanston Street, and that he had reason to believe, he said, that she was the woman who abandoned it. "Yesterday, that's right," she replied. "I tried to get it adopted, but no one would take it." A remand was ordered.
