Dundalk - 12th Century
There are a few records of Cullinanes who were erinaghs (lay clerics) in County Louth near Dundalk. These families were removed from their lands during the Scottish Presbyterian settlements under James I. At this time, the familiar "to Hell or Connaught" edict drove thousands of Irish families from the East coast to the far reaching outposts of Galway and Donegal. Since these records are difficult to trace and provide little genealogical data, it is not possible to provide more information on these lines.
