Castletown - late 1860s Joseph Cullinan(e) (1847-1914) and Johanna Hickey (1848-1910) were living in Castletown, County Limerick in 1865 when their eldest son, Patrick Cullinan, was born. By 1871, they had moved to the United States, settling in Milford, New Hampshire. The had seven more children: Michael (1871-1896), Catherine (1886-1978), Hannah, Alice (1873-1935), William F. (1878-1961), Joseph and John. The younger sons were born in New Hampshire in the 1880s, however they moved to Rhode Island and Pennsylvania respectively, and not much is known about them. The surname for this branch is recorded in early Irish records as Cullinane, however, the spelling has been changed to Cullinan in the United States, where the family is still quite extensive in southern New Hampshire.
