THE BARD FAMILY
Bards of "Carroll's Delight"

GEDCOM & GEDCOM to HTML Page

V  1.0

If you don't have a GEDCOM (Genealogical Data Com munications) compatible genealogy program as of yet (one that imports and exports GEDCOM files) be sure to get one such as Family Tree Maker, or the Personal Ancestral File (PAF) program. You also may wish to download the shareware programs available below or found on a service that provides such software (such as from: Jumbo.com, Download.com, Shareware.com, or from a genealogy link.)

Send us the GEDCOM file for your branch of the Bard family (descendants or ancestors of Archibald Beard (Bard) and his three sons; Richard Bard, William Bard and Rev. David Bard), and we will merge it with our information and re-post the new file here on the official Bard Family Genealogy Web Page (we may also periodically send this information to the central PAF database) .

* Note: We believe that the optimum situation for the revision and maintenance of information of various Bard family genealogy branches would be best accomplished by a specially programmed (Java or CGI?) Web page that would facilitate the direct (password protected) entry of genealogy info by various Bard family members. If this were instituted, we believe a new electronic Bard Book of modern day Bards (as well as a new printed and Cd-rom version) could result.

You'll need a utility to unzip these compressed files such as; ZipIt, UnZipit, Stuffit Expander, etc. (available on-line).

If you have a special download problem we can make other arrangements to get these files to you. (Send us e-mail).

These are the first Bard Family GEDCOM files we've published on the Web, and are very preliminary in nature with I'm sure, a lot of additions, omissions, and revisions to be entered. They do not even reflect all the data that we have on hand, and they certainly do not reflect all the potentially available data. If you observe any verifiable errors in the Bard family GEDCOM files... or even misspellings... or if you are aware of incomplete or outdated information... please send e-mail.
