George & Bridget RUSSELL
George RUSSELL was born about 1780, and Bridget about 1790, both in Ireland. George's occupation was
that of Shepherd. He would have probably married Bridget in Ireland, as their 1st child, William,
was born there in 1816.
But where they came from in Ireland, no-one knows. But the RUSSELL name is quite common there.
George and Bridget had 5 sons:

N.B. in most cases, for "Upwell", read "Euximoor" as both Christchurch and Euximoor Drove came under Upwell
for Parish Register entries and later, Civil Registration.
George died 9 September 1860 and Bridget died 6 June 1861. I assume that they are buried together at
the Baptist Chapel, Upwell - but as the Baptist Minute Books are still missing, and all the headstones
have been smashed and cleared away due to the redevelopment of the Chapel to a dwelling, we may never
find out. BUT I do have a photograph of what could have been their grave
Believe it or not, the majority of the Russells in Upwell and Euximoor are descended from this couple and
their 5 sons!
