CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS
Resumed after Suspension Since 1914
After being in abeyance since 1914 the Christchurch Sports were revived yesterday (Thursday) week, and were very
successful despite the rather unfavourable weather. An excellent field was lent by Mr. H. PATE, and a large
company attended to witness the events, many of which were closely contested.

Other interesting events followed, including pillow fights, boat race, and tugs of war - Married v. Single
and Christchurch v. Euximoor.
In a competition for decorated cycles the winners were:
1. R. Goodger 2. H. Peel 3. N. Ashton 4. R. Roe 5. G. Stevens.
The prizes were distributed to the successful competitors by the Treasurer, Mr. Herbert Pate, after each race.
During the day the Manea Silver Prize Band played selections under the conductorship of Mr. P. Setchfield.
