Robey Letters

Note: This letter was written by Robert Laughlin of Greenup County, KY to William Robey, who was then living in Stephenson County, Illinois. Robert Laughlin was married to Judith Fuqua, daughter of Mary Collins Robey's sister, Cynthia Collins Fuqua. This is the "Mother Fuqua" referred to in the letter. This letter establishes the death dates for Judge John Collins and his second wife, Jane Lampson Collins, father and step-mother to Cynthia Collins Fuqua and Mary Collins Robey, referred to in the letter as "Grandfather Collins and his wife". Despite the difficulty in reading this letter due to the "creative spelling" used, every effort was made to preserve the original spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This letter is courtesy of Mrs. Jane King Fohn. R. Campbell, Ed.
