Helen Silvey's Archives

Helen's Gedcom - "hsilvey" - at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com

Helen Silvey has kept copies of a Carman Round Robin in 1982 on, Carman thread posts on Prodigy in 1992 and 1993, the FIDO BBS in 1994 and 1995 and the Maiser Carman list in 1996 and 1997. She reposted these public posts to the lists for the benefit of new researchers.

With Helen's permission I plan to repost selected emails to phase them gradualy into the Rootsweb Archives. Edit notes show deletions of personal or extraneous material.

It must be noted, that, like everything, on the net or printed, or, for isntance, 15th century maps and paintings showing a flat earth or California as an island, some information is mainly of historical value and may contain data that is no longer accepted, or for which no proof has been found. But reflects the beliefs of the time in which it is written. I am very fond of my former relatives -- Uncle Tom Carman who was burned at the stake in 16c England, -- Nicolas Carmer, Vestryman of Trinity Church in NYC, for whom Carmine Street in Greenwich Village was named. and the myths and legends about the Kings of the Carman Empire in Iran/Iraq in 300 b.c.
