The Crossing from Benfleet to Canvey Island

At high tide the only way to get to Canvey was by ferry. But at low tide vehicles could drive across and pedestrians used the Stepping Stones.

Today there are two bridges connecting Canvey to the Mainland. There are also sea defence barriers to stop the creak from rising too high.
