Almond Z. Madison was born on 17 August 1803 in Hebron, Washington Co., New York, and died on 02 March 1892 in Fredonia, Chautauqua Co., New York. He was an insurance agent. He was the church clerk in Gouverneur, NY for several years, before moving to Fredonia in 1842. He was made clerk of the Fredonia Baptist Church in 1848, a position that he would hold for 43 years. He married first Deborah Rowley on 01 May 1825 at Gouverneur, Saint Lawrence Co., New York. She died on 21 July 1832 at Gouverneur, Saint Lawrence Co., New York. They had two sons:

i. James H. Madison was born on 06 March 1826 in Gouverneur, Saint Lawrence Co., New York, and died on 23 June 1899. I believe that he is the James H. Madison that married Eliza Ann Swift.

ii. John R. Madison was born on 21 February 1829 in Gouverneur, Saint Lawrence Co., New York, and died on 10 October 1898. He was an accountant. He married Maria (b. about 1830 in New York). Children:

i. George Madison was born about 1859 in New York.

Almond married second Maria T. Vary (b. 19 January 1814 in New York; d. 02 March 1892 at Fredonia, Chautauqua Co., New York). They had one daughter:

iii. Sarah M. Madison was born on 19 June 1843 in Fredonia, Chautauqua Co., New York. When her parents died, she went to live with her brother James in Buffalo.
